Data Cable and
Network Installation
At Rooney Electrical undertake network installations from one or two data points up to several hundred and set up all of the infrastructures in between. We can help you design the most suitable solution for your needs as well as provide and install the data cabinet, trunking and data cabling (Cat 5e/6/Cat 6A/Cat 7) required to establish same. Testing
Rooney Electrical expert testing services to clients to ensure the safety of their electrical installation as required under the 2007 Safety Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations. We offer clients a full range of testing packages tailor made to suit the unique needs of domestic, commercial and industrial properties. We utilize the very latest in non-invasive testing techniques to test electrical systems whilst keeping disruption to a property to an absolute minimum. As our electricians are Qualified Certifiers we are members of safe electric/RECI we offer clients legally binding certificates that prove their property complies with all safety standards and directives
Completion Certs

Periodic Inspections
Electrical installations can deteriorate with age and use. It is recommended that electrical installations are inspected and tested periodically as appropriate to their use and environment to verify compliance with the National Rules for Electrical Installations. These inspections can be required by insurance companies in order to insure/renew insurance on the properties. It should be note that a Periodic Inspection Report is a report and not a Completion Certificate. The frequency of periodic inspection and testing shall be determined by the type of installation, its use, the frequency of maintenance and the external influences to which it is subjected. Fire Alarms
For new commercial premises, fire detection systems have to be installed to ensure fire certification is approved and the building will be allowed to be occupied. The following developments require a Fire Safety Certificate;
- Works in connection with the design and construction of a new building
- Works in connection with the material alteration of: •A day centre
- A building containing a flat
- A hotel, hostel or guest building
- An institutional building
- A place of assembly
- A shopping centre
- Works in connection with the material alteration of a shop, office or industrial building where additional floor area is being provided within the existing building or where the building is sub divided into a number of units for separate occupancy.
The implications of not having a FSC are extremely serious. If the building is inspected by a member of the building control authority and on finding proof that no Fire Safety Certificate is in place, the building could be subject to closure. Despite businesses having insurance policies, nearly 80% of businesses that are seriously damaged due to fire never recover. This is because while a claim and rebuild is being administered, you have nowhere to sell your product, no money coming into the business and suppliers and staff looking for their money.

Energy Audits
Rooney Electrical can offer clients recommendations and advice on upgrading their electrical systems to maximize energy efficiency and reduce energy bills.

These audits look at the existing lighting, and determine the kilowatt usage and cost, and make a comparison with new LED lighting kilowatts and running costs. A cost comparison report and recommendation will be made as a result of the audit, showing the cost to replace, the savings, and the return of investment time, which in most cases is less than 3 years. Energy Efficient Heating
There has been many advances in heating systems in recent years make heating for more efficient. Smart control systems such as NEST and HIVE mean that heat is only called for when and where it is needed. These systems also give the client maximum control over their heating systems allowing them access via apps from anywhere. These system have many features to maximize you heating efficiency. There has also been major advances in electrical heaters such as oil filled heaters, panel heaters and storage heaters. These new heaters offer far more control, efficiency and safety. Emergency Lighting
